Personal Documents – Foreigners
After obtaining the authorization for work or stay in Brazil, foreigners must request the issuance of their personal documents.
The deadline to get the foreigner registration ID (RNM) are:
- 90 days, counting from the entry date of the first entry with the temporary visa, if the foreigner applied for the visa before coming to Brazil (Section 64 of Decree 9199/2017)
- 30 days, counting from the granting of the residence permit, if the foreigner applied for the residence permit while already in Brazil (Section 66 of Decree 9199/2017);
